Cast Iron Seasoning Instructions:

 

  1. Start with clean unseasoned cast iron cookware

  2. Apply cast iron seasoning liberally to all sides of cookware while metal is cold

  3. Set on grill upside down so excess seasoning runs off and does not puddle

    1. We recommend using a grill outside as this is a very smokey process

    2. If using an oven, follow same steps but place sheet pan under to catch drippings and make sure to have adequate ventilation and exhaust

  4. Heat grill or oven to 500 degrees for 60 minutes

  5. Let cool in grill or oven

  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for as many coats as desired (minimum of 3 coats recommended)

  7. After use while cooking, clean and recoat to maintain protective layer
